Upgrading the Wrath of the Ancients to the Fire Bow in Black Ops 3 Zombies can be one of the most challenging quests in Der Eisendrache. Known officially as the Kreegah Kalluva, this upgraded elemental bow creates magma fissures that deal immense damage to large groups of zombies. Understanding the exact sequence of steps helps players minimize wasted rounds and complete the upgrade smoothly.
Obtaining the Quest and Initial Shot
To begin the quest, players must head to the Belfry tower in the castle area after securing the base Wrath of the Ancients bow. Aiming carefully at the glowing red symbol located high on the wall inside the tower and shooting it triggers the start of the upgrade process. A broken arrow piece will fall from the symbol, which players must retrieve to activate the quest.
After collecting the broken arrow, players need to make their way to the Rocket Test Site outside the main castle area. Waiting for a rocket engine test to initiate is necessary before taking the next action. As soon as the test finishes, quickly run outside to interact with the glowing red stone located near the rocket doors to charge the arrow energy.
Launching into the Glowing Circles
The next phase requires precise timing and trajectory while utilizing the map's Wundersphere launch pads. Three glowing circles on the ground across the map must be shot with the bow while floating mid-air after launching from specific pads. These circles are located near the Death Ray, the courtyard entrance, and the landing site near the double tap perk machine.
Hitting these targets turns them bright red, indicating that they have been activated successfully. Players who miss a shot will need to spend additional points using the Wunderspheres until every target glows red. Practicing the angle before firing saves valuable points and keeps players safe from surrounding zombies during high rounds.
Filling the Circles and the Fireplace Sequence
Once all three circles are activated, players must stand inside each red ring and eliminate zombies to collect their souls. Filling a circle completely causes a bright beam of light to shoot into the sky. Repeat this process for all three rings until they are fully energized and ready for the final transmission step.
Head back to the Clock Tower and interact with the glowing orb inside to reveal a specific symbol. This symbol points to one of three fireplaces located around the map, such as in the Control Room or King's Chamber. Players must shoot magma rocks across the map into the designated fireplace within three shots to complete the puzzle.
Reforging the Fire Bow
After successfully landing a magma rock into the correct fireplace, players can interact with the ashes inside to pick up the forged arrow. Take the completed arrow down to the Undercroft near the Pyramid area to begin the final charging phase. Place the arrow inside the designated Fire Bow altar to lock it in position for reanimation.
Defeating a final wave of zombies near the altar feeds the remaining souls needed to empower the weapon. Once the soul collection process concludes, interact with the altar to trade the base weapon for the completed Fire Bow. This devastating weapon allows players to easily control choke points and survive high-round encounters.
